In this help article, you will learn how to unsubscribe a contact manually in SharpSpring.
The following User Roles can manually unsubscribe contacts.
- Marketing Manager
- Sales Manager
- Jr. Salesperson
Use the following steps to manually unsubscribe a contact from receiving emails.
Step One: On the toolbar, hover over Contacts, then in the drop-down, click Contact Manager.
Step Two: In the search bar, type the name to find the contact to unsubscribe. When you see the contact , click the name to open the record.
Step Three: In the upper right hand corner of the contact record, click the Options button, then in the drop-down click Unsubscribe from Emails.
A warning pop-up will display asking you to confirm the unsubscribe action. Click Don't Allow Emails to unsubscribe the contact.
NOTE: You will no longer be able to send emails to this individual from the SharpSpring application while unsubscribed.
Step Four: There are two ways to confirm you have successfully unsubscribed the lead:
- Red text appears at the top of the contact record stating:
This person has requested to not be contacted.
- On the life of the lead, an email icon with a red stop symbol on top will appear. When clicked, the timestamp when the contact was manually unsubscribed will display.
