For this particular use case, we want to create sublists of an original list. This can be especially helpful when doing things like test sends of an email to a certain segment of a bulk list we’d eventually like to send to.
Splitting the List
Step 1: Navigate to “Automation”, and select “Lists” from the drop down menu.
Step 2: Select the gear of the list you’d like to split. Choose “Split List” from the options menu.
Step 3: A modal will appear. There are two different options for list segmentation: Number of sublists and number of members per sublist. Number of sublists will split the list into as many different sublists as you specify. Number of members per sublist will split the list based on the amount of leads you specify to be in each sublist. You can then choose to have the lists be generated in Natural or Random order. Natural is the order the list is currently in. Random segmentation pulls leads randomly into the sublists from any position in the original list. The number of lists and number of members in each list are displayed at the bottom and will change as you select different segmentation settings.
Step 4: When you settings are correct, click “Segment List”. Your sublists will be built based on the settings you chose and put in a new folder.
Congratulations! You’ve finished the walkthrough of how to split a list in SharpSpring.
