Personas are fictional representations of your customer audiences, designed to produce higher conversions by making personalized messaging simple. This article provides a walkthrough on creating personas.
Create the Persona Template
Step One: In the primary navigation bar, hover over the Automation tab and then select Personas from the dropdown.
Step Two: Click Start Here to configure your persona template. You can edit the persona template at any time by clicking Edit Template under the Options button. The following can be configured within the template:
- Demographics Widgets: supplemental information for the persona, text input fields only. Examples: Job Keywords, Job Experience, Education Level, etc.
- Section Widgets: intended to capture information unique to your business. Choose from horizontal bars, range set, or sliders to display the widget information. Examples: Purchasing Habits, Product Needs, etc.
- Custom Stories: text area fields used to capture any additional information. Examples: Fears and Aspirations, Buyer Habits, Unique Selling Proposition.
Step Three: Set your demographics widgets. Click the pencil icon at the top right of the avatar placeholder to open the edit widgets modal. Create new widgets by clicking Add, and delete any widgets using the trash can icon on the far right of the modal. You can have as many demographics widgets as you need.
Step Four: Set your section widgets. Click the Add Section button to open the edit widgets modal to begin. Provide a title for the section, and then create the widgets. You can have as many widgets as you need within a section.
Step Five: Click Edit Custom Stories to open up the edit widgets modal. Custom Stories require a title for the story as well as a text area field containing the story details.
IMPORTANT! any field changes made to the template will be reflected on each persona. New fields and widgets will be added with default values.
