Your subscribers open email on a variety of apps and devices, each with their own rendering quirks that affect email performance. Easily create render tests in SharpSpring to see exactly how your email looks in the most popular email client. The renders created in SharpSpring are pulled from our partnership with Litmus and are billed separately.
The following users have access to generate email render tests:
- Marketing Manager
Step One: On the toolbar, hover over Content, then in the drop-down, click Emails.
Step Two: Locate the email you would like to run a render test on, hover over it, then click the Edit Email button.
TIP! Another way to find the email you want to render test is by using the left-side panel Filter Email, then click the email to open it.
Step Three: Within the Email Designer, to the far right of the title, click the Litmus Test button, then click Run New Test.
Step Four: In Select a Contact field, enter a name, then select the contact to pull in their information for the test.
NOTE: The lead will not be emailed, this is only for testing purposes only. Any merge variables used within the tested email will be populated with the information for the selected lead.
Step Five: Now select the clients you would like your email to test against and click Run Test. Pricing for the render test is listed at the bottom of the page directly above Run Test.
IMPORTANT! Once you select Run Test you will be billed separately for each client you select.
Step Six: Once the render test is complete, a pop-up window provides a thumbnail image for each email client included in the test.
- To view the email as it will be in the selected client, click the thumbnail.
- To return to the Email Designer, in the upper right hand corner of the preview panel, click the grey X.
- To see a listing of previous render tests organized by the date the test was completed, click the Litmus Test button, then select the date.
NOTE: If you make changes to your email, you will have to run a new render test to see the updated version.
IMPORTANT! Each time you select Run New Test you will be billed again for the clients you select. To do so, click Options in the top right corner then click Run New Test.

$2.00 for more than 2 of the Common Rendering Clients (max of 6 clients)

Q. Does my Email Render Test expire?
A. Yes, Litmus only stored Email Render Test for up to six months. After six months, these tests are deleted by Litmus and are no longer accessible in SharpSpring.
