The Life of the Lead displays information on a lead's interactions with your website or content. The record of these interactions are saved to a timeline in SharpSpring. This article will provide an overview on the Life of the Lead.
The following user roles can utilize the Life of the Lead:
- Company Manager
- Marketing Manager
- Sales Manager
- Jr. Salesperson
Accessing Life of the Lead
To access the Life of the Lead page, do the following:
Step One: In the top toolbar, go to Contacts > Contact Manager.
Step Two: In the Contact Manager list, locate and click on the desired lead.
Step Three: In the lead record, click on the Life of the Lead tab.
What is Life of the Lead?
The Life of the Lead is a history of your life -- this includes timeline of the interactions between the lead, your website, your marketing communications, and any events or changes made to the record in SharpSpring. Each icon can be selected to see what event took place, when it happened, and any additional information associated with the event.
Some visits or interactions by the lead, prior to them becoming a known lead, can also be viewed. Events that occurred while a lead was anonymous are denoted as a blue line on the timeline. Events that occurred once a lead has had tracking established are denoted as a green line on the timeline.

Navigating Life of the Lead
You can filter through the Life of the Lead and only view specific events by selecting the gray Event Filter button. The following options can be selected as filters:
An icon can be selected to view the particular event and when it took place. In the image below, the selected icon is highlighted in green.
The following events have larger circles on the Life of the Lead to indicate that these are important events:
- Converted to Sale
- Opt-In Email
- Form Fills
- Lead Owner Change
- Added via List Import
- Manually Added
- Synced to Salesforce
- Unsubscribed Email
- Manually Resubscribed
