SharpSpring enables you to add and link an image to an email.
Adding an image to an email is a great way to grab the attention of the email recipient. It's important to remember to add a link to that image's source. If the image isn't from your company, the link to the image's source will allow you to provide proper attribution to an individual's work. If the image is from your own website, then you are simply providing another method that the recipient can use to access a different part of your website.
The following video will show you how to add and link an image to an email in SharpSpring. However, if you prefer, a written step-by-step guide is available below the video for your convenience.
Use the following steps to add an image to an email.
Step One: On the toolbar, hover over Content and in the drop-down, click Emails.
Step Two: Select “Create New Email” and for example purposes, let's use the "Hero 1" template, which can be found under “SharpSpring Templates.”
Step Three: Name the email.
Step Four: Click on the blue "Add Email" button.
Step Five: Click the pencil button on the top of the placeholder box (1) OR double click on the grey photo placeholder (2) , both will bring up the email editor on the right side of the screen.
Step Six: Click on the image placeholder in the editor to replace the image. The image will turn blue when selected.
(Note: All of the SharpSpring templates except for the "Plain Text" template, will have a designated spot for inserting photos.)
Step Seven: Find the "insert image" icon located on the toolbar and click it to open the "File Manager."
Step Eight: Click the "File Search" icon. It looks like a magnifying glass on top of a file.
Step Nine: Select the desired photo from photos you've uploaded to the media center, or select "upload" to upload a new photo from your computer.
Step Ten: Click on the blue "Insert" button.
Step Eleven: Enter a description and the desired proportions for the photo.
(Note: You can also adjust the proportions by dragging the corners of the image in the email itself.)
Step Twelve: Click the blue "OK" button.
You have successfully added an image to your email.
Step-by-Step Guide to Adding a Link to an Image
Step One: Select the image. It will turn blue and the “insert/edit image” icon will be selected as well.
Step Two: Click on the “Insert / Edit Link” icon. It looks like a chain link, and it’s right next to the image icon.
Step Three: Enter the URL where you’d like the image to link to. Add an optional Title. The Link List will automatically add a URL that’s already associated with a Media Center link, a Landing Page, or Merge Variable.
Step Four: Set the target to “Open In New Window.”
Step Five: Click on the blue “Ok” button. The image is now linked! When someone clicks on the image in this email, it will lead them to the URL specified above.
