In order to design landing pages and blogs in SharpSpring, you need to enable a landing page site. This article will go over the process for setting up landing pages for the first time.

Enabling Landing Page Sites
If you attempt to access the Landing Page Designer without creating a landing page site, then you will see the following message.
Note: If you are seeing the page show above and you've already set this up at least once,
the Add Site button will be unresponsive. You will need to click the green New button at the top right corner of the app and click Site to continue.
As an example, let us assume that bryantobin.com is the site currently being tracked in SharpSpring. Since landing pages require a landing page site, we need to create blog.bryantobin.com.
This landing page site must be unique, so you cannot use the same URL as an existing website. You can create multiple landing page sites, so we don't have to create every landing page with the URL blog.bryantobin.com.
Here are some additional examples of landing page sites that we could also use:
Setting up a Landing Page Site
Step One: In order to create your first landing page, either click the orange Add Site button when you navigate to Landing Pages, or do the following:
- Step A: In the top-right corner of the SharpSpring application, click the New button.
- Step B: In the drop-down menu that appears, select Site.
Step Two: Under Short Site Name, enter a name or label for this landing page site.
Step Three: Under Site Type, select one of the following:
- Main Site
- Microsite or Brochure
- Blog or Informative
- Help or Forum
Note: Both Short Site Name and Site Type will not be public and will only be used for organizational purposes.
Step Four: Under Domain Name/URL, enter the domain of your landing page site.
For this example, we are using blog.bryantobin.com as our Domain Name/URL. The format of this should be word.yourdomain.com.
Step Five: Click the Make available in Landing Page Builder checkbox.
Step Six: Click Add Site.
Adding Additional Landing Page Sites
If you are wanting to add an additional landing page site, or you have recently deactivated your original landing page site and want to add a new one, do the following:
Step One: In the top-right corner, click the icon.
Step Two: Click Settings.
Step Three: On the left side, under Agency Tools, click on Sites
Step Four: On the right side of the Sites page, click the icon.
Step Five: Select Add Site.
Step Six: Click the checkbox to mark the new site as available for landing pages.
Creating Landing Pages
Every landing page will have a default .pages.services attached to the end of the landing page site. You will need to add a CNAME record to your tracked site in order to get rid of the .pages.services within the URL. You must be able to log in to where your site’s domain is registered. As such, if you bought your domain through GoDaddy, you must have full access (admin username/password) to GoDaddy to create the CNAME record.
- For example, if your tracked site is domain.com and you’ve set up the subdomain subdomain.domain.com, then your landing pages will have automatically have the SharpSpring URL subdomain.domain.com.pages.services.
Note: You will notice a timestamp (domain.com/landingpage?ts=123...) appended to the end of your landing page URL when you click to visit the live page from the editor. This link parameter is not necessary and can be deleted. This is simply a timestamp of that publication and is not intended to be used for sharing purposes. You can delete anything after the question mark (?) in your landing page URLs.
Adding or Editing CNAME Records
Step One: Log in to your domain host (GoDaddy, NameCheap, BlueHost, etc).
Step Two: Locate the host's domain settings, CNAME settings, or DNS management. These are sometimes labeled as Manage Domains or DNS Records and may be under advanced settings.
Step Three: Navigate to where you are able to add CNAME records/aliases.
Step Four: Enter your landing page site as the host or alias.
Step Five: Enter your SharpSpring URL as the value destination or points to link.
|Value Destination/Points To:
In the example below, the tracked site in SharpSpring is www.bryantobin.com and we have created learn.bryantobin.com as the landing page site. Here, we have created a CNAME record in GoDaddy where learn.bryantobin.com points to learn.bryantobin.com.pages.services.
