You can always go back and edit a lead's record both directly through that contact's profile and through the Contact Manager. These edits, or lead field changes, can also be used to kickstart your action groups through automation. In this article, you'll learn how to edit a lead in SharpSpring.
The following users can edit a lead:
- Sales Managers
- Marketing Managers
- Jr. Salesperson
How to edit a lead via the lead's profile:
Step one: Locate your lead in the Contact Manager and click their profile.
Step two: Edit information directly in the contact's profile by clicking into the fields you want changed. To edit fields under Contact Information and Company Information, click the pencil icon to the right of that field, enter your edits and then click the green checkmark. To edit fields under Custom Fields, first add your edits and then click the green Save button once complete.
Step three: To edit information in a custom field, enter in your edits and scroll to the top of the Custom Fields tab and click the green Save icon.
How to edit a lead via the Contact Manager
Step One: From the toolbar, hover over Contacts and click Contact Manager.
Step Two: Locate your lead and then click the checkmark to the left of that lead.
Step Three: Once the lead is checked, from the top right of the Contact Manager, click the the drop-down menu
Step Four: Click Edit Contact
Step Five: Type in the field you want to edit and enter the new value. For example, if you want to change the lead's industry to Marketing, then type Industry field and enter Marketing as the value. Then click Save.
