SharpSpring's enables you to upload contacts or leads to a new list. If you have an existing list you would like to uploading a CSV file into, you can find more information on that here.
The following video will show you how to upload a list of contacts or leads to SharpSpring. However, if you prefer, a written step-by-step guide is available below the video for your convenience.
Step-by-Step Guide on how to Upload a List of Contacts or Leads to a new List
Step 1: Click on "Contact Manager" in the top navigation bar.
Step 2: Select "Import Tool" in the drop down menu.
Step 3: Click on the "Choose File" button.
Step 4: Select the CSV file that you want to import.
Step 5: On the "Import Leads" page, you should see a "List Name" drop down box. Select "New List" in the drop down box.
Step 6: After selecting "New List," write in the name of the list in the field to the right of the drop down box.
Step 7: In the "Import List As..." drop down box, you can choose to import the list as "Open," "Qualified Leads," "Unqualified Leads," "Contacts," or "Unassigned." For this demo, let's choose "Contacts."
Step 8: You can choose to assign the leads to a campaign or to a particular user, by placing a check mark in the boxes provided.
Step 9: Now you need to map the CSV fields on the left to the SharpSpring fields on the right. For example, First Name = First Name, Last Name = Last Name, Email = Email, etc.
(Note: One of the required fields to import contacts is a company name field. However, there is a workaround that will allow you to import a CSV file without data in the company name field.)
When importing contacts without a company name included, you will still need to have the "Company Name" column within your CSV. However, while the column is required, the data within the column can be left completely blank.
Step 10: Once you're finished mapping fields, click on the green "Import Leads" button.
