With SharpSpring, visitors to your landing page can click a link that will make it easier for them to call you. By putting a telephone number in a button on the landing page, visitors are more likely to reach out to you. In this article, you'll learn how to add a click-to-call button to a landing page and the steps to customize the button in SharpSpring.
The following users can add a click-to-call button to a landing page:
- Marketing Managers
Step One: On the toolbar, first hover over Pages, then click Landing Pages.
Step Two: Hover over the page that will have the click-to-call button, then click the pencil icon to edit that landing page.
Step Three: In the Landing Page Designer menu on the left, click Add Content.
Step Four: In the Elements sub-menu, click Button.
Step Five: Hover over the landing page and click when a purple line appears to place the button.
Step Six: Click the button that was just added.
Step Seven: In the menu that appears, under Set a Custom URL, type tel: and the phone number that you want called when a visitor clicks that button. Example:
Step Eight: Under Set Button Text, add the text you want to be displayed on the button when visitors click the click-to-call button.
Note: These normally read as something like the following:
- Click Here
- Call Us Today
- Click here to call

Clicking a call button works differently on different devices. Below is a breakdown of what your visitors will see when they click this button.
For Mac: This link will ask the user to Open FaceTime and make the call via FaceTime.
For Windows users: This link takes the visitor to use the default call app on their computer.
For iPad: Visitors will be able to send a message or add that number as a contact.
For iOS: This link will give the option to either call, message or add to contacts
Customizing the click-to-call button
Step One: You can further customize your button under the Appearance settings:
- Set Button Text.: Enter the text you want to show in your button
- Style: Choose for your button to be Outlined or Filled
- Size: Decide whether you want your button to be extra small or extra large (XS, SM, MD, LG, XL, XXL)
- Button Shape: Select the type of shape for your button. Choose between Square, Round or Rounded.
Step Two: Under Custom Colors, you can customize the look and feel of your button by adjusting the following:
- Border Color
- Hover Border Color
- Text Color
- Hover Text Color
Step Three: Under the Position section, you can choose to the alignment of this button by selecting between Left, Right, Center and Block options.
