Accessing Web Insights
Click Analytics in the left toolbar to access the Web Insights feature in the Marketing Reports section. From there, the Web Insights feature displays information in three sections: Overview, Referrers, and Entrance Pages.
The Overview Tab
The Overview tab contains information about various site tracking metrics.
These reporting metrics are represented numerically in the Site Stats bar and visually in the Web Visits graph.
You can manipulate the Web Visits graph to display either as a Line or Bar Chart and toggle what metrics you would like to graph together by choosing the different toggles on the right side:
Metric | Description | |
Bounce Rate | The percentage of people who landed on one page of your site and left without navigating to a second page or did not trigger any additional events that would cause tracking code to fire. |
|
Direct Traffic | The percentage of traffic that comes through your site either through typing your site address directly into their browser or by clicking a link or bookmark to your site. |
|
Search Traffic | The percentage of traffic that arrived on your site by clicking through from search results. |
|
Total Visitors | The number of unique visitors coming to your site over the selected time frame. |
|
Total Visits | The number of visits to your site over the selected time frame. Visitors can have multiple visits to your site, so this number will be higher than the Total Visitors. |
|
Total Page Impressions |
The count of each time a page is loaded in the browser.
Average Page Views |
Average number of pages a user hits per visit.
Average Minutes on Site |
Average number of minutes a user spends on your site per visit.
Top Referrers |
What sites are people on immediately before coming into your site or rather, where are visitors coming into your site from. |
|
Top Entrance Pages |
What pages on your site are people hitting when they come in to your site. |
The Referrers Tab
The Referrers tab provides more in-depth information about what sites visitors are coming into your site from.
This tab provides the top 100 domains in a list, as well as a visual representation in a pie chart. Beneath the pie chart, the percentage of visits to your site that came through referrals, the total number of referral traffic visitors, and the total number of visits are displayed numerically.
The Entrance Pages Tab
The Entrance Pages tab provides more in-depth information about what pages visitors are hitting when they come into your site.
This tab provides the top 100 pages in a list on the right, as well as a visual representation in a pie chart. Beneath the pie chart, the total number of visits to your site is displayed numerically.
