When you export the leads, each one will now have a SharpSpring leadID. You can use this ID during imports for leads who do not have an email address, and this value will be used to associate any changes to the lead records from the import, to the appropriate lead record in SharpSpring.
IMPORTANT! Mapping to the SharpSpring ID can overwrite the Email field.
You can locate the the SharpSpring ID to in two places:
- When generating a Lead Export from the system it will be under the column SharpSpring ID
- It is imbedded in your lead’s URL
The following User Roles have access to perform imports and data migration :
- Marketing Manager
- Sales Manager
Follow these steps to use SharpSpring ID when importing.
Step One: Import your leads into SharpSpring. If you need help, click to review the article Import Tool Overview.
NOTE: Once your import is complete, each lead will have a unique SharpSpring ID.
Step Two: Export your leads. If you need help, click to review the article Export a List of Leads.
NOTE: If you open your export using Excel, the SharpSpringID column may translate into the format of scientific notation. Make sure to change the format to Number with no decimal places prior to any future imports.
Step Three: You can use the SharpSpring ID during imports for leads who do not have an email address. This ID will be used to associate any changes to the lead records from the import, to the appropriate lead record in SharpSpring.
IMPORTANT! SharpSpringID supersedes Email as the unique lead identifier. If you have leads with Emails, SharpSpring will look first to SharpSpringID, and then to Email to find a match. If the SharpSpringID matches, and the email is different, that lead's email record will be updated to the email included on the import.
