|SharpSpring supports all Unicode fonts. This allows you to create emails and landing pages in languages that are supported with a Unicode font.
This article will provide information on Unicode fonts and certain limitations when rendering languages other than English in SharpSpring content.
Uses and Limitations in SharpSpring
You can use different languages in emails and landing pages in SharpSpring. So long as the language you are using is supported by a Unicode font, you can:
- Override field names on a form
- Create your own custom fields
- Set merge variables
- Set tags
Be aware that text fields will display any character in a data string.
However, in certain features of SharpSpring, there may be instances where you cannot use languages other than English. For example, English must be used in email address fields.
In addition, your recipients must have Unicode fonts to be able to see what it is your are presenting in your emails, forms, and landing pages. If your email and form recipients or landing page visitors do not have the appropriate Unicode font, they will be unable to adequately interact with your content.
Obtaining and Installing Unicode Fonts
Unicode is the current standard for displaying text and visual characters on computers and smart devices. Fonts that adhere to the Unicode format are called Unicode fonts. These fonts display their characters by way of numbers and not individual glyphs. This allows for Unicode characters to be rendered visually—often in subtly different ways—by web browsers, word processors, and other software.
The Unicode Consortium sets standards for all Unicode fonts. Unicode fonts come preinstalled on nearly every modern computer on the market. However, there may be the rare occurrence where Unicode fonts are not installed on a new computer. More than that, older computers may lack certain Unicode fonts. Fonts can be downloaded from a variety of online sources. The Unicode Consortium has a list of recommended Unicode fonts for download.
Downloading and installing fonts will vary by operating system. For more information on downloading and installing fonts, refer to the following external help articles:
