Gating Content with Forms

In order to gate media content behind forms, you will need to first provide the content. You can use Lead Gen & CRM's Media Center to add and house media content.

To upload media content to the Media Center, do the following:

1. Click Media Center in the left toolbar.
2. Click + New Media.
3. Enter a title for the media file.
4. Enter a description for the email file.
5. Click any or all of the applicable checkboxes.
6. Click either of the following radio buttons:
   
   

   	Button		Description
   	Upload a File		Uploads the file from your computer through the uploading tool.
   	Provide a Link		Paste the media file's URL link from its image hosting website.

7. Click Add Media.

Once you have uploaded media content, you will need to create a trackable link to go with it. Trackable links are necessary to place Media Center assets into emails and landing pages.

To create trackable links, do the following:

1. Click Media Center in the left toolbar.
2. Locate a media file.
3. Click Trackable Links > Add Trackable Link next to the media file's name.
4. Name the link.
5. Click Add Link.
6. Return to the Media Center.
7. Locate the media file with the trackable link.
8. Click Trackable Links > Copy next to the media file's name.
9. Paste the link as needed.

Once you have uploaded media content and created its trackable link, you can use the link in a form. This means that you will need to create a form.

To create a form, do the following:

1. Click Forms in the left toolbar.
2. Click Create Form.
3. Enter a name for the form in the modal window that appears.
4. Select Constant Contact Form.
5. Choose the appropriate lead status to assign to leads that fill out this form.
6. Click Continue.
7. Click the Fields drop-down menu.
8. Select a field to add to the form.
9. Click Save Changes.

Once created, a modal window will appear that contains the form's embed code. This is the code that you paste into a webpage to place created forms on a page. You can close this window.

Once you have created and saved a form, you can add field and formatting content. This information will be gathered when the form is filled out.

To add content to your Lead Gen & CRM form, do the following:

1. Click Forms in the left toolbar.
2. Create or edit a form.
3. Click the Fields tab.
4. Select applicable fields to include in your form from the Fields drop-down menu.
5. Select appropriate elements to add to your form from the Elements drop-down menu.
6. Add appropriate referral fields to your form, if necessary, from the Referral Fields drop-down menu.
7. Add appropriate Persona and GDPR Consent fields from the Special Fields drop-down menu.
8. Click-and-drag fields to rearrange them as needed.
9. Optionally, select any or all of the following options from the    More Options drop-down menu:
   
   

   	Option		Description
   	Required		Requires that the site visitor fill out this field with applicable information in order to submit the form.
   	Always Show		If checked, the field will display on every form and cannot be replaced by a progressive field.
   	Autofill Data		Automatically populates associated fields with visitor information if they have already filled the field.
   	Is Hidden		Makes the field invisible to a site visitor who is filling out the form.

10. Click Save Changes.

By default, every form comes with a button. You can configure the appearance of a form's button.

To configure buttons that appear in your forms, do the following:

1. Click Forms in the left toolbar.
2. Create or edit a form.
3. Click the Styles Tab.
4. Click the Button tab.
5. Configure the button's visual appearance as desired in any or all of the following categories:
   
      •   General Styles
      •   Text Styles
      •   Button Colors and Borders
      •   Button Colors and Borders (Hover)
      •   Button Positioning
6. Click Save Changes.

Landing pages serve many different functions. You may find that you want to have a landing page serve as a destination page for when users fill out forms.

Once you have enabled at least one landing page site, configured your domain settings, and set funnel categories, you can create landing pages. 

To create new landing pages, do the following:

1. Click Landing Pages in the left toolbar.
2. Click    Options > New Landing Pages.
3. Enter the Funnel name, domain, and the number of pages in the funnel. Then click Create Funnel.
4. Add block, layout, or element content as desired.
5. Click Create Funnel.
6. Click    Add Content in the Content Editor panel.
7. Click one of the following content tabs:
   
      •   Blocks
      •   Layouts
      •   Elements
8. Click the desired content item.
9. Click the purple line in the page section that you would like that item to appear.
10. Add other content as desired.
11. Click    Page Settings in a landing page.
12. Click the page's name in the Page Settings section.
13. Enter a title for the page in the Page Title text box.
14. Enter a short piece of information that will summarize the page's content the Meta Description text box.
15. Enter keywords that best reflect the content of the page in the Meta Keywords text box.
16. Click the Allow Search Engines to Index This Page checkbox.
17. Click Publish.

You can set forms to navigate to or download specific media content after a lead has filled out your form. When paired with required fields, you ensure that leads can access your content only after they have filled out form information.

This requires that you have first uploaded media content to the Media Center, obtained the media content's trackable link, and created a fully configured form.

To gate downloadable content behind a form fill, do the following:

1. Click Media Center in the left toolbar.
2. Upload media content or access existing media content.
3. Copy the desired media content's trackable link.
4. Click Forms in the left toolbar.
5. Create or edit a form.
6. Optionally, configure the form button's appearance.
7. Click the Settings tab.
8. Scroll to the Thank You Page section.
9. Paste the media content's trackable link in the Page URL field. 
10. Optionally, select any or all of the available settings in the Thank You Page section.
11. Click Save Changes.

There may be times when, instead of using downloadable media content, you want forms to direct to specific landing pages after they have been filled out and leads have submitted their information. You can use your forms to link out to landing pages to or otherwise gate specific landing pages.

This requires that you have first put together a landing page and created a fully configured form.

To link to landing pages or other content after a form fill, do the following:

1. Click Landing Pages in the top toolbar.
2. Create or edit a landing page.
3. Click   Page Settings in the left panel.
4. Copy the URL in the Funnel URL—Secure field.
5. Click Forms in the left toolbar.
6. Create or edit a form.
7. Optionally, configure the form button's appearance.
8. Click the Settings tab.
9. Scroll to the Thank You Page section.
10. Paste the landing page or content's URL in the Page URL field. 
11. Optionally, select any or all of the available settings in the Thank You Page section.
12. Click Save Changes.

There may be times when you want to direct form submissions to external webpages or other content. You can use your forms to redirect to external content, such as webpages, images, videos, files, and other content not hosted in Lead Gen & CRM.

This requires that you have first created a fully configured form and have the external content's URL available.

To link to external content after a form fill, do the following:

1. Open a new tab in your web browser.
2. Navigate to the desired webpage or other content.
3. Copy the external content's URL.
4. Click Forms in the left toolbar.
5. Create or edit a form.
6. Optionally, configure the form button's appearance.
7. Click the Settings tab.
8. Scroll to the Thank You Page section.
9. Paste the external content's URL in the Page URL field. 
10. Optionally, select any or all of the available settings in the Thank You Page section.
11. Click Save Changes.
